mythology, Stentorwas a herald with the voice

other men together. Edward C. Doughty,a
Professor of Music and teacher of the
violin,registered the
name Stentor in
1895 for gutviolin
strings and rosin.Since the
1960s, more than 500,000 youngmusicians have begun their musical careers with aStentor instrument. Many of these same violinistsand cellists are now
to be found in majororchestras and the teaching profession of today.
